"Nancy not only helped our daughter make more fluid movements, she also gave my husband and me great guidance so we can better understand what
our daughter needed to progress." — Kathryn, NYC

Treatment Methods

Nancy evaluates each child with an eye to the specific difficulty facing them, strongly believing in the team approach to treating developmentally disabled children. For some infants and children therapy alone will mitigate their issue; for some further medical testing is required. From her early experience at Lenox Hill Hospital in NYC, she made connections with some of the best neurologists, orthopedists and pediatricians in this area. She often requests that the parents go for a consultation to establish an even clearer analysis of a sometimes very complicated diagnosis. Her close relationships with Dr. Paul Jordan, a world-renowned pediatric podiatrist & Dr. Roy Nuzzo the most skilled surgeon performing SPML, help to provide her patients with the necessary surgery and orthotic devices.

During Nancy's physical therapy treatment she incorporates The Feldenkrais Method® and The Anat Baniel Method™ for Children. These systems rely on moving someone in delicate ways to create new synapses in the brain. The neuroplastic approach recognizes that by teaching a baby or child a new movement is a gentle and refined approach. She doesn't simply stretch or place them in a position; she creates the conditions for them to easily recreate this new movement themselves. It is far different from the aggressive and often painful range of motion activities utilized in many physical therapy practices.
